As a Co-Founder of Ustream.tv, I have to say I agree! Great insight detailing two very good, albeit different companies.
Thanks for the review!

I’m looking for a date. I’m going to Stickam. How can you compare the two? Seems like ustream is down every single time I go there.

Bwana,
I too agree with your assessment of the ustream/stickam debate. But must strongly disagree with one of your comments, we are not “set in our ways” and definitely not resting on our laurels. We are currently in the process of a complete redesign of our site. Many of the comments that you made were “right on” and we have been addressing these with the new site. Intuitive controls that guide the user experience were at the top of our list. As the first to market in this space we focused on what was the most important aspect of our launch, a robust, scalable platform that provided an experience/environment that would be hard to replicate. As the MySpace generation has always been early adopters of new technology, we have enjoyed significant growth as a result of this relationship. It is now time for Stickam to unleash the power associated with “going live” to entrepreneurs, businesses, artists and musicians. You will see this in the new stickam to be released shortly. Lastly, the thing about great competitors like ustream is that it keeps us up late at night innovating, makes us focused on delivering a user experience that provides significant value, and validates this platform that we developed a year and a half ago.
