Donations for Bwana’s iPhone 3G Upgrade

In this video, I talk about jim48116′s idea of creating a ChipIn! widget to get me and my wife an iPhone 3G upgrade.  Jim approached me yesterday on live.bwana.tv and asked if it were possible to setup a fund raiser to get it done.  I was a bit hesitant at first since I rarely ask for anything in return for the things I do, but I decided to do it anyway to see what happens.  Seconds after I posted the ChipIn! Widget, Jim donated $50!!!  Jrblaze in the chat room asked if my wife would be jealous if I got an upgrade and she didn’t.  Well… yeah she would.  So Jim suggested I increase the amount of the ChipIn! widget to account for both of our upgrades.  Soon after, Jim donated ANOTHER $50!!!  Amazing.  So if you want to donate to the iPhone 3G upgrade for Bwana fund, go to this link:  http://bit.ly/bwanaiphone3g.  From there, you can donate however much you want via paypal.  ChipIn! will track how much has been donated and how much is left.  Again, I’d like to thank Jim for his generous donations and also thank all of you for listening and subscribing, whether you donate or not.

    I don't get it. An unlocked old 8gb iPhone sells for $300, enough to get a 16gb 3G, or to get an 8gb with some change left over. Don't you have iPhones already?

    What do you think I'm going to use to pay for the extra data charges? :) This was an act of kindness by the community. I didn't ask for it, the guy just offered it. Yes we do have iPhones and we will most likely sell them if this reaches the goal. If it doesn't reach the goal, I'll use the money to fund future giveaways.

    R U serious man. if you cant afford an iPhone 3G then ya dont get one. sell what iPhones you have and that should cover it. Not sell them after. so the community buys your iPhone and then you sell your old ones and reap the benefits. Nice…

    I think good on ya Bwana. I love the idea of getting you an iPhone and I'm glad you got it. I'm all the way in Australia and I'm saving up all my cash to get one myself! I can't wait. Anyone that has been blessed with an iPhone deserves it. Congrats to you and your wife Bwana!! Just to let you know as well….the 8gb iPhone in Australia is $750. Crazy price differences hey?
