My Thoughts On the 04/2009 Ustream Update

In this video, I give my thoughts on the new Ustream.tv website. Recently, Ustream updated the layout of their website and added social features to the interactive tools. Namely, they've added a "social stream" which ties into Twitter and can optionally replace the IRC chat.

Ustream moved away from wyldryde IRC server support, so my chat room for http://live.bwana.tv is not supported on their site. I like what they've done with the front page now that they actually rotate show banners of live shows and not just the popular shows. The Twitter support is a good thing to add as well although die-hard IRC fans are not happy with Twitter. I believe the site has a ways to go in terms of usability and customization, but it's a good start. I also would like a stabler environment in terms of streaming as I've had consistent issues keeping my stream up.
