You pick your favorite out of the two and it gives you another one. Rinse and repeat. It’s easy to get caught up in this as you sometimes get some hard comparisons that you can share with friends. In this video, I walk through the new features of FriendFeed which where announced on 04/06/2009.  This new version, which is in beta, has completely changed the way we use FriendFeed.  When you first log in, you’ll notice the site is in real-time.  What does that mean?  It means that updates are displayed as they are posted in a constant river of information.  FriendFeed also added direct messaging, keyboard shortcuts, cross posting, and my favorite: Filters.  In this video, I show some of my favorite filters that I’ve created and their results.  I encourage you to try to the FriendFeed beta, and if you do, follow me at:  http://friendfeed.com/bwana.  Enjoy!

In this video, I discuss my newest project called Stickrz. The website is stickrz.info and it’s aimed to provide information about where you can obtain free stickers on the internet. It’s primarily user driven and we are relying on word of mouth to filter the quality material. If you google “free stickers”, you’ll notice a lot of spam sites which are there simply to get your hit. Stickrz is driven by passionate users who love to stickerfy their belongings. Enjoy!

In this video, I discuss how I obtained a cartoon avatar of myself that displays on Twitter, FriendFeed, my blog, and my Bwana.TV logo.  The process is fairly simple.  The first step is to take a good picture of yourself with decent lighting (try to do this alone as it will help).  The next step is to visit Cartoonme.com and submit this photo to the site.  Pay them via paypal (3.50 Euros), wait two days, and viola, you have a cartoon version of yourself.  That’s it!  A lot of people thought I made this image, but I actually spent approximately $5 to have someone else do it for me.  In the end, it turned out to be a great investment as I have used this image all over the place including Twitter, FriendFeed, SocialMedian, Rejaw, Identi.ca, Strands, and the like.  If you wish to do this yourself, give it a try and let me know how it turned out!  Enjoy!

In this video, I discuss a new social network called Raptr.  Raptr is centered around gaming across multiple platforms including PC, Mac, Flash, 360, PS3, and Wii.  Much like Xfire and other such clients, it tracks what you are playing at the moment.  The cool thing about Raptr is that it ties into Twitter, FriendFeed and Facebook.  So when you start playing your favorite game, you can let your friends on social networks know what you are doing.  Raptr has its own community where you can branch out, learn about new games, make friends, and do all those things that social networks highlight.  I’ve been using Raptr for less than a day now, but I’m glad I got involved since I had been looking for something like this to tie into FriendFeed.  There’s RSS feeds for your activity, so it’ll be a piece of cake to embed something like this on your blog.  If you join Raptr, add me.  My id is bwana.  Enjoy!

In this video, I talk about how to utilize FriendFeed’s room feature to add a forum element to your existing podcast.  FriendFeed released a new feature that allows audio sharing right on the FriendFeed site.  This gives your user community a one stop shop to consume and solicit feedback regarding your podcast.  I have setup a room for my Bwana.org Radio podcast and I hope it gains traction.  I can see a ton of potential with this solution.  Enjoy.

This video demonstrates a mobile interface for the popular website, FriendFeed.com.  When FriendFeed first launched, there were many who determined it was not usable since it didn’t have a mobile interface. The lack of SMS and a WAP or iPhone/iPod Touch interface deterred many from visiting the website while on the go.  Benjamin Golub has developed http://fftogo.com on the Google app engine using the FriendFeed API.  This has given many of us who like to use FriendFeed on our mobile devices an attractive alternative to the default website.  FFtoGo offers all the features of the main site, except hiding which is not provided by the FriendFeed API.  The settings of FriendFeed to go give the user the ability to increase or decrease font size, determine how many links are displayed per page, and how to handle opening links (open them in a new window or use the google mobile proxy to render).  I highly recommend using FFtogo.com for all your FriendFeed mobile needs.
