This port of this old school title was brought to the iPhone a few months ago and I’ve been getting my fingers dirty playing it. The controls take a bit to get used to, but overall it’s pretty good. The graphics and sound are acceptable as well. There’s not much wrong with this port and if you love Final Fantasy, I think it’s worth the $8.99 price tag SquareEnix wants for it. Search for Final Fantasy in the iTunes App Store to purchase it.

The story about Final Fantasy XIII is not really my concern as much as the sad state of game reviews today. I agree with SquareEnix in that western point of views may differ from eastern ones, but you’re selling your game here so… it’s valid. However, the reviews that are published today are atrocious. I highly recommend you base your game purchases on much more than game reviews alone. You may be surprised how often you like games that have received poor reviews. Take care.

As you may or may not know, this game is available on the PS3, Xbox 360, and PC platforms. I’ve been playing a great deal of this game on the PC and I’ve found myself enjoying it more than what I thought I would. A lot of people warned me that it didn’t have that much replayability after you finish it a couple of times. I’ve only finished it once so I can’t speak for that right now. It’s by ngmoco, inc and it’s a great addition to any gamer’s library. Fortunately for you, Dropship is currently free of charge. It has a great control mechanism which utilizes both thumbs to control the ship and fire. The premise of the game is rescue humans while avoiding obstacles and enemy fire. Judging by what I’ve seen of the M.A.G. game so far, it’s seems to be living up to the promise of a great title. iFillit’s premise is to fill a defined percentage of the screen before time runs out while avoiding obstacles. There are several mini-games on the PC which have a similar premise and have proven successful. Since the obstacles which are birds can take a life if they hit your “lines”, there is a certain amount of strategy involved to finish each level. As you progress forward, there are more obstacles which are available. Each skill level requires a higher percentage of screen that needs to be filled. iFillit is a great time waster for the iPhone / iPod Touch. It is available for $0.99 at http://www.ifillitapp.com

In this video, I do a quick comparison review of the new game, Battlefield 1943. Battlefield 1943 is available on both Xbox Live and Playstation Network, so naturally a lot of users are curious as to the differences. In my limited time playing the game, I’ve found a few subtle differences but nothing to panic about. I had trouble picking a platform to buy it for since it came down to controller, community, and overall personal preference. Toy Raid brings back childhood memories of playing with toys on the iPhone. You’re under attack by helicopters, soldiers, airplanes and bombs and you must not die.
