We attempted to keep it short but as you’ll see the video can be a bit lengthy. Some of the games that were discussed, I didn’t get a chance to play and I asked the chat room to vote on those titles. The PSP go was announced at E3 and it was also announced the mini games would be available. This mini games would be similar to iPhone games and would be a direct competitor. Sony went on record to state that they wouldn’t include network connectivity in PSP mini games to “accelerate approval time” For more on this topic visit here: http://j.mp/3wuvn0

In this video, I answer a question from Ian regarding Onlive and how this will change the gaming culture.  I explain that OnLive provides games via a network connection.  Games are streamed over the network for you to play them.  It is a little box that you can attach to your Mac, PC or television that will enable you to play over the internet.  My opinion is that I don’t believe that OnLive will scale to meet demand.  Thanks to Ian for the question!

In this video, cctv asks “Do you think the iPhone will be the next new gaming system?”  I believe the iPhone has unexpectedly become a very popular mobile gaming platform.  What started as a phone/mobile internet platform has evolved to an excellent gaming system due to third party developers and the iTunes App Store.  As it stands right now, the iPhone can’t stand toe to toe with the Nintendo DS and PSP today.  Since it’s not a dedicated gaming platform, the iPhone has limitations in terms of controls and power.  The future looks bright however since iPhone 3.0 API functions were announced which allow developers to control hardware.  This will pave the way towards third party external controllers.  Also, rumors are circulating that a new iPhone is coming this June will which have a more powerful processor and GPU.  This will definitely help games.  So the answer to your question is, yes the iPhone is a gaming force as it stands, but it’s not a dominate player right now.  The future, however, looks bright for the platform given the announced updates.  Stay tuned cctv and thanks for the question.
