This is a hard question to answer since there are so many factors. It’s not fair to compare it to VHS since the factors today are different. Today we have a wild card called digital downloads. This could hinder (or possibly help) Blu-Ray’s goal of owning the market. With HDTV still sitting in a niche market, it’s still a steep uphill battle. Hope that answers your question, @pantz04

Thankfully, Sonic840 of DeviantArt has created a great PC hardware reference chart which lists a ton of PC components: http://bit.ly/RL5Ez If you’re curious about any PC part (including SATA ports) you can most likely find it on this chart and compare it to what’s inside your computer. I recommend you use this chart to become familiar with your computer’s internals. Thanks again for the question, sabres421

My setup is fairly unique ( to what I’ve seen on the web) Basically Tucker, I’m using a more hardware solution than what’s currently out there. My video card (Nvidia Geforce 7800GTX) supports output to a TV/secondary display. I’m utilizing that feature to output my monitor to S-Video. In the software, I set my desktop to mirror displays (so my gameplay will be on both). The S-Video then runs into my Dazzle which runs into my streaming machine. So my gaming machine only handles the game and the output is handled by hardware. It’s a fairly streamlined solution in that it’s pretty flexible and supports a good framerate. Hope this answers your question Tucker.

First off, there are several solutions available that I most likely won’t cover in this video (sadly, all the comments I get will disregard this statement), but here are just some you can use. Before we go on, you need to know is that there are three solution areas to consider: Hardware, software and audio. Hardware solutions are the Proview XLR http://bit.ly/10TU34 ($100), Pinnacle Dazzle http://bit.ly/pCaPB (~ $100) or a high quality HD Capture card like the Black Magic Intensity Pro http://bit.ly/NCijD ($200). Software solutions include Camtwist http://bit.ly/11yeZL (Free) and Wirecast http://bit.ly/aVQsi ($450). Finally, for audio, you can do software emulation with Audio HiJack Pro http://bit.ly/Gdp2U ($32) with a built in mic/headset or go the hardware route with a mixer such as the Behringer Xenyx 508 http://bit.ly/1n2Z3x ($30 – $60). On top of that you can buy a cheap lapel mic or go for a higher quality condenser mic. These are all solutions to get your Xbox 360 recorded and streamed. There’s more to the configuration details of all this, but this should be more than enough to get you started.

I didn’t know how to do this offhand, so I researched a bit and found a lot of recommendations for a particular software package. It’s called Duplicate Annihilator and it does exactly what you asked for. Unfortunately, it’s not free and costs $7.95, but that seems like a small price to pay to do such a tiring task. It can be found here: http://u.nu/8yhb Thanks for the question WizzKid!

There are several ways to watch live TV on Mac, but my product of choice is the El Gato USB Hybrid http://u.nu/3yeb . You can simply connect your cable or satellite box to this device and you’ll have live TV on your Mac within an hour. You can also buy a Slingbox and use the SlingPlayer software on Mac OS X and watch live TV that way as well. These are a couple of popular options which I think will help you. Thanks for the question, Sonny.

Thankfully, it’s pretty simple to connect an external monitor with Mac OS X. The operating system recognizes it fairly quickly and the system preferences are intuitive enough to figure out how to extend your desktop. Thanks for the question.

Fortunately, there are several options available to you Jacob. It depends on what you currently have. If you have a PCI Express slot on your computer, you can use a SATA controller card on your computer which will give you an internal or external option to connect the SATA drive. Another option is to get an external USB enclosure and insert the SATA drive. You can utilize your USB slot on your computer, and you can connect additional drives in the future if this one fills up. Hope this answered you question, Jacob!

Android has a great notification system and combined with background functionality, the IM capability is exactly what you’re looking for. Check out the video to see it in action.
It’s ironic you ask this question because I had to perform this task a few days ago. I used a program called Disk Inventory X – http://u.nu/5dd8 – which gives a visual representation of the file sizes on your computer. Once you start it up, it denotes files by squares and rectangles. The larger the shape, the larger the file. It’s easy to find large files with this program and it gives a great overview of which folders contain the largest files. I recommend using this program to determine which files are the largest on your computer, and then decide on whether to remove them. Thanks for the question guitar4542!
