My main question is to you is are you going to upgrade? Snow Leopard has a lot of improvements under the hood and given the $29 upgrade price, there’s very little reason not to upgrade. Application compatibility will likely be a hurdle for most users, but most of my applications will work on Snow Leopard. There are a few that I’m not sure about (Ubercaster is a big one). So, are you going to upgrade?

There are several ways to watch live TV on Mac, but my product of choice is the El Gato USB Hybrid http://u.nu/3yeb . You can simply connect your cable or satellite box to this device and you’ll have live TV on your Mac within an hour. You can also buy a Slingbox and use the SlingPlayer software on Mac OS X and watch live TV that way as well. These are a couple of popular options which I think will help you. Thankfully, it’s pretty simple to connect an external monitor with Mac OS X. The operating system recognizes it fairly quickly and the system preferences are intuitive enough to figure out how to extend your desktop. Thanks for the question.

I'm sorry to say, Mac Minis are not an ideal solution for HD video editing. I'm pretty much in the same boat as you in terms of the video I produce. My videos are about 5 minutes, 720p, and are uploaded to Youtube for HD. In order to do efficient editing of HD Video, you'll need a fairly powerful CPU, video card, and a fast hard drive. Having these three components will eliminate the possibility of bottlenecks later on. If you want to do HD video editing on Mac OS X, I don't think you should get a Mac Mini, Macbook or even an iMac. I would recommend spending money on a Mac Pro, or even a Macbook Pro on the low end of the spectrum. Thanks for the question CarlDavid815.

I'm using software from slappingturtle.com called SwapMyDock. SwapMyDock is a program which alters your dock via drag and drop. You can download dock themes from http://dockulicious.com, http://leoparddocks.net and http://leoparddocks.com . Once you've downloaded your desired theme, you simply drag and drop it into SwapMyDock which will change your dock. Hope I answered you question techhelper1, and thanks for submitting. I bought the laptop because I miss them and would like to see them every once in a while, however they have PC. Is there a program that allows to have video chatting from Mac to PC, if so would you be so kind to explain me how as if you were talking to a dummy?”  Well Felix, I don’t believe you’re a dummy, but I’ll do my best to explain a solution to you.  In my experience, the best solution for this scenario is Skype.  Skype works on both Mac and Windows computers and has video and voice capability.  It’s relatively easy to setup, and is free.  Make sure you don’t get caught up in the premium features that cost money.  In order to do what you need to do, you don’t need to give Skype one penny!  Hope this helps!  Got a question?  Send it in to help@bwana.tv.
